Why this day

Most teams tried it once, and quietly parked it.

Nobody's sure what's safe to paste in, what it gets wrong, or which tool does what. So the good intentions fade and nothing changes.

This course helps your team build practical skills and safer working habits. In person, it is one day at your office, 9am to 3pm. Online, it is two half-day sessions on Teams, normally on separate days. Either way, you practise with realistic tasks built around your sector and business, using fictional or anonymised information. You do not need to bring confidential work. No theory lecture, no coding, no single magic tool.

Before the day

We tailor it before we arrive.

Before training, we research your business and agree examples and preparation with you. If your team has taken an index, we use the findings to shape the session. Preparation is included in the course price. The indices are free, and training does not require confidential work.

Founding training rates are £1,960 +VAT online over two half-days or £2,360 +VAT in person over one full day, for up to ten people. Standard rates are £2,450 and £2,950 +VAT respectively. Agree your date in writing and pay the 50% deposit by 31 December 2026; training can take place in 2027. The offer applies to training only.

Enquire about this course

Your sector, not our examples

If you're an accountancy firm, we work through a client review meeting. If you're a plumbing firm, we work through the overdue invoice. Your workflows, your documents, your language.

Understand your starting point

Participants can take the free Personal AI Index to see their own working habits. The AI Adoption Index gives the organisation’s view. Taking an index does not automatically share individual results with us or your employer.

Return to review changes

You can repeat the relevant index after three to six months to review what has changed. Repeat participation is free.

The syllabus

What the course covers.

Six blocks, with the practice rounds taking the largest share of the time. In person they run in one day, 9am to 3pm. Online they run over two half-day sessions: the first three blocks in the first session, the last three in the second. Nothing here is a slide your team could have read on the train.

How AI works

How language models generate responses, why their knowledge can be limited and how they can make confident mistakes. We show how supplying relevant source material can help, and why you still need to check the answer.

Safe use and governance

Five plain rules, agreed in the room. Three of them: if you wouldn't put it on a postcard, don't paste it in; sensitive work goes in a business-protected tool, never a personal one; a person owns every output. Plus what to do in the first hour if something sensitive goes into the wrong tool, which is contain it, establish the facts, write it down.

The method: Spot, Prompt, Check, Decide

Four steps to help you assess a task, use AI where it fits and check the result. This is the part that lasts after we leave, because it doesn't depend on us being in the room. It's set out in full below.

Putting it to work

Two practice rounds using realistic examples and fictional or anonymised information. First, everyday writing and admin using suitable tools from Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, with demonstrations of paid features where relevant and a worked example from your sector. Then you test a business idea with an AI sounding board that is told to argue back, and discuss the result with a colleague. You can use a safe example from your own work if you prefer; we check what is suitable to share first.

Tools and licences

What to buy, what's already included in what you pay for today, and what IT needs to switch on. Honest indicative costs, and no vendor pitch. You do not need to buy paid licences before training. Participants can practise with free tools; some features we demonstrate require paid plans. We agree suitable tools and any preparation beforehand.

Ready for the next working day

Everyone leaves with two written actions, a set of saved prompts that work on their real tasks, and the start of a one-page AI policy: which tools are allowed, what never goes in, what gets checked, who signs off.

The method

Spot, Prompt, Check, Decide.

The one thing we'd want your team to still be doing in six months. It survives a change of tool, a change of model and a change of job, because it isn't about any of them.

Spot

Notice the task worth handing over. Repetitive, text-heavy, low-stakes to draft. Most people miss these because they're already doing them on autopilot.

Prompt

Say who it's for, what good looks like, and what you're giving it to work from. Give it the facts that matter, rather than hoping it knows them.

Check

Read it as the person who has to stand behind it. Names, numbers, dates and anything it stated as fact. Sceptical on facts, relaxed on wording.

Decide

Use it, fix it, or bin it and do the job yourself. Deciding it wasn't worth it is a valid answer, and knowing that quickly is the skill.

Outcomes

What your team leaves with.

Not a certificate and a folder of slides. Six things they can use the next working day.

Ready to use the next working day
  • ✓ One method, four steps, for deciding where AI helps and checking its work
  • ✓ Five safe-use rules everyone in the room has agreed to
  • ✓ Worked examples from your own sector, ready to reuse
  • ✓ Saved prompts with the blanks left in, ready to reuse
  • ✓ The start of your one-page AI policy
  • ✓ Two specific actions per person, for next week

Use it to help with language. Check the facts and meaning. Give it the context that matters.

If your team remembers one sentence from the day, this is the one we'd pick. The rest of the day is how they get there.

Not sure it's the right step?

Take the free Personal AI Index to reflect on your starting point, or tell us what your team does and we’ll help you decide whether the course would be useful. You can book training directly without taking an index first.

Training for larger teams

More than ten people? Plan it in groups.

We deliver the course in groups of up to ten so everyone has time to practise and ask questions. For several groups, tell us the number of people, roles and preferred format. We will propose the sessions, preparation and total price in writing.
